Stop, I feel like this is the only honest review. The hotel is ok for the price, offers tv and wifi but both dont work(my experience and other reviewers), understaffed and unfriendly staff, gym is unclean, basement level lights flickered like a horror movie, we found we towels on multiple occasions(in elevator and on a desk), does offer many utensils along with almost full kitchen, BUT nothing is clean, almost all cutlery was more than dirty.
Bottom line: I will always book this hotel when staying in Estevan. The good: Free breakfast and dinner, the danishes are a nice treat and dinner service is tasty. Kitchen looks clean and well maintained too. Location is in the industrial district, close to coffee, food, Walmart/no frills Rooms are clean. They are well stocked with dishwasher, stovetop, microwave, full-size fridge/freezer, tv, wifi. Kitchen utensils and pots/pans are included. Coffee maker too. Water pressure is good, shower and bath are great. The suites are a good size so if you want to just relax for an evening you can do so without feeling trapped in your room. The not so good: Booked a king suite, but only suites with 2 queens are available. Not sure what happened there Wifi is open and unsecure, not recommended unless you have a VPN you can use The train tracks are close by. I never had a problem, but that might be for some
Great breakfast. Husband enjoyed real eggs for a change for breakfast. I liked that my waffle didn't stick to the waffle maker. Comfy room!
Breakfast starts at 5am which is awesome for when you're working. Most hotels don't start breakfast until 7am. We got the executive room which far exceeded our expectations. The staff was great. Overall great experience.
This hotel is truly a hidden gem!!! The rooms are clean, well designed, and comfortable. Bonus they have a hot dinner Mon-thurs evening and a tasty breakfast spread. The staff is top notch and the rates are competitive. I look forward to my stay at the Western Star every time Im in town and never have been disappointed. Youll be hard pressed to find a better stay for the $$.
